Delightful

I am thrilled with the tickets I snagged in the Gold Circle. We were in the 3rd row from the stage, the best tickets I ever got for a concert. Ms. Stirling has a wonderful stage presence. She talked to the audience like friends. Her signature playing while dancing did not disappoint, but she did rely on the same few moves in every song. I admired her skill in creating a pirouette of several revolutions with only her legs, which is extremely difficult. She made a point of going to the far corners of the stage and coming down in front to smile at us, as if for photos. The 4 female dancers with her were excellent. We were delighted also by her singing. The band, of only 2 musicians, were outstanding. Those guys should never be without a job. My favorite part of the show was when they came down from their high perch to sit on the edge of the stage with Lindsey and they all played tiny instruments. The only disappointment was I felt the lighting design could have been better. But then, I studied lighting design in college, so I am very critical. Ok, there was another mild disappointment. She prepared us with a couple of stories about angels in her life during the show. But the final number with her donning wings and "flying" was a bit more underwhelming than I think she hoped. Being hung from a single line allowed too much clearly unwanted spinning. That's one flight that should have had 2 extra lines to stabilize her. I would have had those lines come from the back of the stage to pull her into the center of the large circle of lights (the halo?) that hung high on the backdrop. It was a missed opportunity. But it was a lovely show to get us into the Christmas spirit. We arrived early to be able to buy stuff but so did everyone else so the line was too long for our taste. After the show, we managed to get into the diner and had some amazing food to help us through the hour drive home. But I must comment on the Bangkok shrimp: it was fabulous, except there was too little coleslaw. There was barely a quarter cup at the bottom. There should have been at least a half cup or I would have preferred even a whole cup of coleslaw to balance the very spicy shrimp. We hope to attend another concert/event at the Hard Rock Hotel/Casino.
